Summer 2024 was grand!
Special thanks to all our supporters and participants. The Scharf Family Charitable Trust, Arnprior Optimist Club and Arnprior Rotary Club provide the support for the library to continue to offer free programming to the community.
This year, 307 youngsters participated in the Summer Reading Club helping to set a record book circulation throughout July and August. We were pleased to offer capacity programming by filling nearly 1500 programming spaces.
Daily programs
Daily programs are for Junior Explorers (born in 2018-2020), Senior Explorers (born in 2017 or before).
Registration is required for all programs except Friday Morning drop-ins. Registration will roll out every week, beginning June 26 for the first week of programs in July.
- Morning sessions: 10am – 11:30am
- Afternoon sessions: 1:30pm – 3pm
If your child is unable to attend a program they are registered for, please let us know so the space can be offered to another child. Programs are FREE, but failure to give a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for cancellations will result in a $5 fine being added to your child’s membership.

Reading Incentive Program
Participants collected a wooden coin every time they borrowed five or more books from the Children’s Collection using their own library card, to a maximum of one a day.
Coins were exchanged at the circulation desk for gift cards to these local businesses:
- Dairy Queen
- Flavour Container
- Mallard’s Milk Bar
- Super Lucky Dollar Store
Earning 10 coins during the summer led to an invitation to our End-of-Summer Celebration.
